Tsewang Lhamo

Tsewang Lhamo (born June 15, 1985) is a popular contemporary Tibetan singer known for performing both traditional folk and pop songs. She is a prominent figure in the Tibetan community and is also popular in the Himalayan regions of Nepal and northern India.

Career and Music

• Albums: Tsewang Lhamo released her debut solo album, Gangri Bumo, in 2012, which became a hit with Tibetan audiences. Her second album, The Girl from the Tibetan Plateau, released the same year, was sung entirely in the Tibetan language.
• Style: She sings a diverse repertoire that bridges traditional Tibetan music with modern pop sensibilities.
• Performances: She has performed internationally, including a concert in the United States in 2011. Her live performances are widely shared on platforms like YouTube and SoundCloud.
• Collaborations: In 2017, she released a duet with fellow lead Tibetan singer Sherten as a tribute to the 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje.
